I had a chance to visit the brewery recently, and came back with a few to sample.
The style is listed as a Vermont IPA, and on the side of the can they call it hazy. They also measure out at 10 IBU, which is generally weak for my palate. It indicates the use of Galaxy, Citra and Chinook hops. OK head on the pour. And it definitely should not be called hazy, it is somewhat transparent.
Given the hops used I expected a strong floral/citrussy smell. Likely given the 10 IBU, the smell was somewhat weak, and quickly dissipated. There were definitely hints of lemon/lime and a pine undertone.
The taste came in about what I expected. Light fruit and resin/pine undertones with very little malt taste coming through. A bit more bitterness than I expected out of 10 IBU.
Its best asset was its drinkability, it was well balanced, not too strong, not too filling. I could easily sit on the deck and sip these all day long.
I will also throw out a shout to the brewery itself. The lone employee was very knowledgeable and easy to approach, as was their dog. The art on the walls was very interesting. Its a straight retail shop, small, but if you are in the area its worth a stop.
