Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a very dark, brown-to-black coloring with a tall, frothy, chunky, light tan head. Great lacing along the glass. Nose of chocolate, smoke, resiny bitterness, and floral hops highlights. Flavors of roast and bitter hops forward, with a chocolate roasted backbone. Roast and resiny into the aftertaste, with a bittersweet highlight throughout. Smooth, slightly dry finish. Solid brew.
