Served in straight pint glass. Poured with less than an inch of slightly off-white head that dissipated medium-quickly and left lots of pretty, sticky lacing.
The expected hop-dominant aromas greet the nose with a pleasant surprise of malt sweetness in the background. The flavors didn't quite live up to expectations set by the aroma. While certainly a hop forward brew, the malty aroma translated into a slightly too sweet beer. There was an underlying flavor on the finish that I couldn't quite put my finger on (bubblegum?), that may come from the yeast.
The body was very good, full and tongue coating without being too sticky or full. The drinkability was typical for the style, I wouldn't drink more than 2-3 ImpIPAs in a sitting. Overall a solid brew, this breweries first attempt at the style, that with a little refinement could easily be a great brew. Worth trying if you see it and some effort to find.
