This is latest in Big Al's series of brews submitted, and brewed on BA's system, by a local home brewer. Local Hero #1, Kevin Davie, is now head brewer at Chuckanut Brewery.
This beer was served in a straight pint glass. Poured a very clean, clear, reddish mahogany, with about a half inch of light tan head that had moderate retention and light lacing.
The aroma was pretty good, nice malts, some spice, some fruit notes and a nice yeast tang. On the tongue, the malt was dominant, with spice and yeast following and a touch of fruit at the back. The finish was a little sticky.
The body was fairly typical, full, somewhat sticky and a lingering finish. Drinkability was very good, much better than average for the style, including some of the better known examples of the style.
Overall, a very nice brew. Worth seeking out in it's limited availability around the sound.
