Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear, bright brown-amber color with just a thin cap of very light khaki head with low retention and no lacing.
The aroma had a pleasant, light smokiness that didn't cover up the nice base grains and gentle hops. The taste followed along appropriately, good grains, gentle hops and just enough smoke to be interesting, but enough to burn out the taste buds.
The body was a bit thinner than I'd prefer, but fit the style very nicely indeed ( the beer went nicely with the left over bacon on the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar). Drinkability was very good, my issue with a lot of Rauchs is that the smoke tends to ruin your taste buds for a few hours. Overall, a nice brew. Certainly worth trying if you see it and maybe worth some effort if you're in the Puget Sound region.
