A: Poured as flat as a board. Dark reddish brown with deep purple highlights. No head, no bubbles. Nada. From what I understand this beer was so beat up it would not even force carbonate.
S: Sour of course, a mesh of red and purple grapes with some Earthy notes and faint wood
T: The grapes were there but that's about it. The lack of carbonation left me thinking "what if"....the beer had potential but at this point it tasted like flat, sour grape juice.
M: Medium bodied, poor carbonation or lack thereof on carbonation.
O: A solid no go for me on yet another Big Al brew.

Beer made with Sangiovese grapes and aged in Sangiovese wine barrels. Served in straight pint glass. Poured a very still, no bubbles at all, lightly cloudy reddish brown color. No bubbles meant no head, retention or lacing.
The sourness was in the front of the aroma, but very softly. There was a very light grain scent underneath the fruit and sour aspects. On the tongue, the grapes and sour have control of the front, but both fade very quickly. There was a light grain taste as well.
The body was medium-thin, and didn't hold up to the light sourness. The beer did have a very dry, almost puckery, finish. Drinkability was easy and quick, but shouldn't a sour slow ya down a bit? Overall, an OK brew, maybe a nice entry for someone just getting into sours. Probably worth a shot if you see it.
