If we don't have a stout on tap you'll be enjoying this beer. A strong chocolaty porter, it will seduce you with its smoked, roasted flavors.

Growler was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger mocha head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a dark brown black color with no vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Roasted coffee, chocolate, smoke, caramel, toffee, and earthy aromas.

Taste: Above mentioned aromas with the smoke and ash malts bring dominant with lingering bitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, light to medium bodied, ash bitterness, and low to medium carbonation.

Overall: Pretty nice porter. Will get more next time up in Maine. Delicious stuff.

Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a dark, creamy, brown/black coloring with a thin, frothy, clingy, tannish brown colored head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted coffee, and some earthy highlights. Flavors are robust, and a dark roasted bitterness blasts your palate immediately. After the dust settles, you get a good blend of bitter, dark, baker's chocolate and cocoa nibs on a slightly creamy, sweet undertone that almost gets lost. This is damn tasty. Roasty and bitter coffee aftertaste on a thin, smooth body leads to a slightly bitter, slightly dry finish. Great chocolate and coffee linger. This is a fantastically crafted Porter.

Poured a deep brown hue with a two finger foamy tan head. There was very good retention and lacing.

The smell featured roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate.

The taste consisted of an upfront dry coffee and dark caramel, with a touch of caramel in the middle and charcoal at the finish.

The mouthfeel was full for the style.

Overall a very good, and dry, robust porter.

Pours a dark brown color with a smallish tan head, fades fairly fast, not much lacing, when held up to the light there is some reddish hues.

Smell has a nice deep roasted malt aroma, slight dark chocolate bitterness.

Taste is fairly smooth, good carbonation, the roasted malt is quite good in this case, bit of caramel and dark chocolate, roasty and toasty and not overly sweet.

Solid poorter, I'd get it again.
