Bottled 16 May 2006 - Red paper with cork. "Best before" label not notched.

Pours hazed caramel-coloured with a thin white head that dissipates.

The smell is of prunes/dates with caramel, orange marmalade, alcohol and pineapple.

The taste if of prunes/dates with caramel, alcohol, hint of orange and pineapple. The finish is a mix of dry dark bread and caramel candy.

It is a smooth, medium body.

An interesting brew here. Seems to go in different directions, but comes together nicely.
It's unique. Pretty drinkable for abv.

I bought this bottle at the Griffin Brewery - It was the last beer produced by George Gale's before their beers became brewed by Fuller's. A nice tribute to a long tradition of brewing.
