Poured a reddish brown body with one finger head and lace ring and I get a somewhat typical old ale aroma of heavy malts, mostly sweet, some dark fruits (I always think figs in this case), oaky/woodiness, and there is some sour vinous characteristics in the nose as well. Taste/mouthfeel is more the same. Heavy bodied, boozy, filling, this beer has sweetness to it ranging from caramel to possibly some maple, vanilla, "port" and then there are some dark fruit and tart fruits that give it a "winey edge". Interesting brew and not much like the "regular" conquest ale and overall a good beer.
