Appearance - 3.5
Poured a finger of bubbly white head that has good retention. The body is a slightly hazy straw yellow.

Smell - 3.0
Bugger all smell, but what there is, is good. Wheaty, slight citrus.

Taste - 3.0
Very refreshing, as a witbier should be. I can see where the "half wit" comes from, this is certainly not a full-on witbier. While it has definite citrus quality to it, there is not much in the way of orange or coriander. Semi sweet with wheat malt flavour predominantly and a little hops in the finish.

Mouthfeel - 3.0
A low to moderate level of carbonation and thickish feel over the tongue.

Drinkability - 4.5
This is very easy to drink and seriously sessionable.

OVERALL - 3.3
I would have much preferd this to be a "full wit", rather than this version, which seems to be dumbed down for Australian tastes. Face it Brewboys, you are not catering for the masses, so why not make a few beer nerds happy! This is really a very decent beer, and I would get it again if it was priced well, althogh Feral White is a better local Witbier option.

A - Poured from a 330ml bottle into a tulip glass a slightly hazy pale straw colour with a 2cm frothy white head that falls away fairly quickly.
S - A vauge spice hint & a some honey sweetness along with a smell that reminds me of canned corn.
T - Some spice also in the taste along with a bit of wheat malt sweetness.
M - Light bodied with a medium to high carbonation.
D - Not horrible & I can see many people being happy to drink this but it's a bit lacking in my opinion.
By their own description this is a "half wit".
I'm all for different interpretations of styles but this hasn't been pulled off well.
A classic Witbier is approachable enough that it doesn't need to be dumbed down.
Many better microbrewed Witbiers out there.
