Appearance - 4.5
Pours a towering white head that shows good retention over a very cloudy golden orange body.
Smell - 3.5
Usual weizen notes of spicy, fruity yeast and bubblegum.
Taste - 3.0
Full of flavour, but lacking the softness and complexity that one expects from a hefe. Bready wheat malt backbone is there, along dusty yeast, banana bread, an overly tart lemon taste and a hint of spice.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Very lively carbonation fills the mouth, feels a little coarse over the tongue.
Drinkability - 3.5
Not something I would want to drink a lot of, but a decent summer beer.
OVERALL - 3.55
An average hefeweizen that I wouldn't say no to.

Pours a clear pale straw colour with no head. Disappointing.
Banana and clove aromas hit first. A bit of wheat and a hint of apple is also present.
Reasonable flavour with more clove spice than banana. The green apple tartness is still present. On the whole and okay weissebier but the flavour is lacking in the depth that is found in a great beer.
Medium body with lots of carbonation here. A bright, bubbly, refreshing beer.
Pleasant enough but the flavour is lacking a bit and it certainly doesn't look like a weissebier.
Update: A second bottle exhibits a better flavour with less green apple. The score has been increased slightly to show that the beer, while inconsistent, can be better than it initially showed.

Murky amber/orange pour with small rapidly dissipating head.
Lots of banana in the aroma, as well as citrus, wheat and some spicy alcohol and cloves.
Very nice flavour, despite the lack of complexity. The expected wheat and banana are the main constituents, with a bit more of that tangy citrus in the background.
Medium body with light spritzy carbonation.

A - Poured a hazy dark golden colour with an orange hue. A few centimetres of fluffy white head falls away very quickly.
S - Big banana aroma with some clove notes.
T - Banana full on in the taste as well with the cloves taking a backseat. Quite a sweetish wheatiness.
M - Light to medium bodied, medium to high carbonation.
D - A decent enough Australian Hefeweizen. Worth trying.
