Devans Modern Breweries Ltd. "Godfather Lager"
330 ml brown glass bottle. "BATCH NO: 538 MFG DATE: 03/05/2019"
$1.59 @ State Line Liquors, Elkton, MD
Look: Clear deep golden body beneath a standard-sized head of white that drops shortly and leaves only minimal lacing after that.
Smell: Clean. Limited aroma of sweet grainy malt and floral/herbal hops.
Taste: The sweetish, almost ceral-like grain, remains but the hops are gone but for a delicate smear. There's a touch of dull, apple-like fruitiness to it. A mild bitterness backs it and it just barely comes out balanced in the end. Some bready malt lingers in the finish.
Feel: Medium-light in body and gently crisp.
Overall: While it's quite easy to drink I'm not sure I'd want another. It's slightly out of balance, but more importantly lacking in character unless sweet adjunct-malt is all that you're looking for. There are worse beers out there though, so there's that, but this is really quite average if you look at it on a global scale.

It poured a clear yellow with a small amount of white head. The smell is of corn syrup and a bit of hops. The taste is average somewhat watery and a sweetness at the end. Overall average but easy to drink.

I would like to give my eternal thanks to my local, in-person trader, @tone77 for his massive recent drop-off that included this beer! I was astounded by how much beer he brought for me & shamed by the fact that mine was merely a paltry offering. 8=( I must atone to @tone77 !
From the Bottle (his drop-off, his call): "Godfather Lager Beer"; "International Quality".
I Pop!ped the cap & started a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I was pleasantly surprised by the rapid formation of nearly two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention! Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, once more calling forth The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Midas & Mammon for a taste. Nose held an interesting cocoa husk-like quality. Hmm. How do I know? I have been in logistics for years & the smell of cocoa shell packaging is unmistakable. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, big for a Lager. The taste was nothing like the nose, more cereal-sweet than anything else, but still rather light and undefined. It was kind of bland, actually, as though they brewed something up for the sake of brewing a fermentable beverage without a lot forethought as to its taste. It cried out for some sort of seasoning, preferably in the form of hops. I just was not getting a whole lot out of it. Finish was semi-dry, but without much flavor. YMMV.

Clear golden color, slight head, quickly dissipates. Phew. It smells really boozey... I know mines a little past best before date but it's still quite pleasant tasting. Better than many American Domestics. Good mouthfeel. Overall surpassed what I expected.

From the 330 ml. bottle with a "manufactured" date of 12/18/18. Sampled on August 24, 2019.
It pours like a typical pale lager with a golden-yellow tone, a modest lingering white head, and fine clarity.
The aroma is corn syrup, cereal grain, and floral hops.
The body is light but it has a crisp and clean feel to it too.
A grainy sweetness with a light hope finish in the taste but unfortunately I also get something akin to vegetable oil. Still, it would be easy to quaff a few of these down.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a straw color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, malts, a light sweetness. Taste is of malts, grains, highly refreshing. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall it's a little bit better than I expected, but certainly nothing special.
