Poured from a growler into a pint glass
A: Translucent reddish-brown with next to no head
S: Caramel, bourbon, rye and grain
T: Matches the nose. Nice mix of the spice rye contributes plus the smoothness of bourbon. Would be curious to see how this tasted in rye barrels, though!
M: Full-bodied but not hot
O: This tastes authentic, not just jumping on the ever-growing bourbon barrel aged bandwagon, especially given the use of barrels used to make locally-made bourbon. Not the best BBA beer I've had but worth a try.
