This information from the brewer: Our Traditional Rat Tail Ale aged in American medium toasted oak. The subtle Graham cracker and sherry flavors show through, giving it a true English pub feeling.
Poured from tap last night at the Cellar Rats Brewery within Chalet Debonne in Madison, Ohio.
A Medium brown translucent body under a creamy 2 cm head. Some lacing on the glass.
S Oak! Really, I like what this has done to the Rat Tail Ale, nice soft tones of oak but also the familiar barley, hops of the original Rat Tail Ale.
T Tastes like Rat Tail significantly softened (and improved) by the oak chips. I found Rat Tail (on its own) to be a bit harsh last fall and the oak chips help it.
M Big with 7% ABV, big tastes of barley, oak, hops.
D Fair to good and certainly improved from the original Rat Tail Ale.
