Poured from tap last night at the brewery. Review from notes taken there. Poured into a standard clean, clear pint glass.
A Dark brown body that glowed ruby red in front of direct light, light brown creamy head that was very brief, no lacing.
S Interesting coffee, chocolate notes along with the requisite (and more prominent) barley malt tastes and very little (but present) hops. 4.0
T Despite the suggestion of some other smells, taste is a pretty basic but nice and malty Oktoberfest with some unwanted bitterness not necessarily from hops but almost like a batch of barley malt that went bad. It is hard to put my finger on it. This taste became more prominent as it warmed. 3.5
M Nice thickness, some syrupy quality. 4.0
D Fair to good. A nice, solid Oktoberfest but that bitterness, increasing as it warmed, drove down the drinkability. 3.5
Notes: Cellar Rats continues to improve.
