Clear amber gold color with good white cap and lacing.
Aroma of good malt, touch of caramel and citrus hops.
Taste on entry is malt forward with slightly citrus hops following. Malt really is the main player here but hops sing loud enough to be heard and actually carry the melody. I keep searching for a bit of pine in the hops because there just seems to be a bit of that in there but still didn't find any identifiably pine presence in the taste. The hops actually strike me as more European as in the Noble varieties. Whatever they are the hops are clean, bright and add just the right high notes to accent the malt nicely.
Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.
I thought for sure I'd reviewed this before, was surprised to find I hadn't, and now am glad I did.

The first sip is hoppy, but not overly so. My instinct is to sip it to avoid getting hopped up on hops and find unjust fault. My impression is that “American” pale ale is something that would pass for tap water for our European friends, but I must reserve judgment. The bottle is something I don’t see often, a very short-necked vessel, giving the body of the bottle room for a taller label. I don’t know. “Inoffensive” is a word I’ve used before, and it’s fitting here. On the other hand, the taste is intriguing; I find my hand drifting toward the bottle to have a little more, with no trepidation. Gets a bit hoppier as I progress. Pretty good finish, with the ale flavor carrying the load, and the hops decorating the taste. 2017/07/20

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle dated Nov 8, 2017. Sampled on February 1, 2018.
Slightly cloudy golden-amber-bronze tone with a modest white head that leaves lacing.
I get a faint skunky character but otherwise there are sweet bready malts and a kind of corn oil character.
The body is light to medium and fairly smooth.
The taste is better than the aroma suggests with a balanced bready malt sweetness and a somewhat clean, grassy hop finish.

Golden color with a thick thin head with decent retention.
Relatively mild aroma with notes of caramels, mild pine and grapefruit.
Flavor with notes of grapefruit, spicy and floral hops, ginger, pine, malt juice and mild caramel. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light towards medium body with appropriate carbonation.
Refreshing citrusy APA with a traditional but well-done recipe. Hoppy but very well balanced. To be drunk in high quantities.

Golden/amber in color, with a good bit of haze to it. One-finger head that laces nicely. Had to work really hard only to get soft to ample scents of lemon and grapefruit. Ordinary to unremarkable flavors of citrus make way to a very malty finish that overtakes any type of other flavors that could be discerned on the front palate. Overpowering finish on the malty side. Medium body with a long, coating finish.

This is a reincarnation of the audible ale. Even though this is a relatively mass produced beer is very sessionable. Truthfully, one of my favorite beers at this alcohol amount. There is some hops and some bitterness but a smooth aftertaste. Much smoother than most of the session IPAs out there. Unfortunately, they don't distribute any more to my area. It seems like Redhook is in a little bit of financial difficulty is their main brewery is being sold.I would recommend drinking it if you can find any.
