Even among the ever-ubiquitous bourbon barrel aged barley wines, this non-BA barley wine really stands out. Murky in appearance which is awesome IMHO, it's a sipper and quaffable at the same time. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Shanghai, seek out one of their four locations!

Tap at the brewpub in Shanghai.
Pours a very dark molasses brown color with faint ruby light sneaking through, it's almost as dark as the stout, with a decent thick head and foamy whisps of lacing.
Nose Toffee candy, buttery oak, light earthy citrus hops, molasses candy, almost syrupy and some warming booze.
Taste brings lots of buttery oak, more candy syrupy malts, toffee, nutty, light warming booze that increases as it warms, chewy almost nougat like center, hints of dark fruits too.
Mouth is fuller bod, decent carb, some warming almost tingly booze.
