A fine example of an English style IPA. The hops are earthy and herbal rather than citrus. Typically the reviews on this site reflect the assumption that IPA = American / Citrusy hops. This is different. Pours a rich pale amber with a full head and good lacing. The hop bitterness is forward but does not mask the bready slightly toasty malts.

On tap at the brewpub
Pours a beautiful copper-amber colour, one finger of slightly off white head, sticky with tons of lace on the glass. Really good looking brew. Smell is pine mostly with some citrus there, fair bit of malt present, light caramel, mild grapefruit. Taste is hoppy up front, lots of pine, quite bitter, some citrus is there, nice malty finish with a good bitter aftertaste. Med-high carbonation, fairly oily, quite full bodied. I really enjoyed this to be honest, not mind blowing but very enjoyable, more of an English IPA than American, would revisit this gladly.

Had this on tap at the brewpub in Picton. Pours a copper-orange colour with thick white head. Really nice head retention with some solid rings of lacing after each sip. Smells of slight floral and citrus hops. Flavour has a nice bitterness to it. This is certainly not a hop bomb by any means, but still a nice enough IPA. Smooth mouthfeel. It was easy to finish this one off and it was my favourite of their 5 beers on tap.
