A Rare Beer Club offering. Pours a dark brown color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of dark fruits and roasted malts. Taste is peppery with a slightly bitter finish. Good alcohol warmth.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into snifter. 2023 RBC exclusive.
A: Pours an extremely dark black brown hue with 2 inch foamy finely-bubbled dark mocha head with excellent retention.
S: Dry cacao, dark roast coffee, warm honey, soft oak, caramel, and hints of sweet bourbon, toasted marshmallow, and vanilla.
T: Oak char and wood smoke hits first as a simply lovely start which persists throughout the experience. After the initial note, dry cacao, dark roast coffee, spicy grain, caramelized sugar, and hints of dark chocolate, herbal mint, and dark dried fruit. The notes of wood char and smoke are perfectly complementary to each other and the rest of the notes…tremendous!
M: Heavy body. Grain spice balanced with moderately dark sweetness (caramelized sugar, toasted marshmallow, caramel, etc) and darker sweet elements (cacao, coffee, chocolate, etc). And the wood char and smoke provides astringent and bitter elements. Bourbon barrel aging elements are kept in check with the blending with fresh imperial stout. The potent ABV is extremely well hidden.
D: Wow, such an outstanding blend! The wood char and wood smoke elements are phenomenal. Superb brew…seek it out!
