Poured from 500mL can into a dimpled mug. Can is dated 2022/02/19, so I'm assuming that's the best-by date.
Appearance: light yellow hue with a moderate haze and a TON of little floaties. Could be hop material; hard to say. Head is a finger of frothy white foam with good retention. The color and head are good, but I'm not a huge fan of floaties.
Smell: very light malt aroma with earthy, herbal hops; there's almost a minty quality to it as well. Perhaps more pale-ale than IPA, but still not bad, especially for NA.
Taste: lightly sweet malt with very herbal, minty hops. Bitterness is light and the finish is a little soapy. I've had plenty of regular pale ales that had this kind of character, but it's not my favorite in an IPA. That said, this does indeed taste like regular beer! So for NA, not bad at all.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess that is surprisingly good for NA.
Overall: I'm going to give this beer more than the sum of its parts, because even if it's not the best "IPA" out there, it is a perfectly cromulent nonalcoholic beer.
