Gdańsk 25/7 2019. 50 cl bottle from Monopolowy by the Green Bridge. Black label with a stylized white bird figure. Sporting a European Beer Star Gold Award from 2013 and a World Beer Cup Bronze Award.
Pours opaque dark brown with a very big light beige head. Settles as thin, fine layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No Lacing to speak of.
Aroma is intense, rich, sweet and strong. Caramel, hints of molasses, coffee in abundance, dark chocolate, Tobacco, licorice and discrete notes of peat.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed byba medium strong coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter-sweet. Lingering. Light alcoholic presence.
As a Baltic Porter should be. Heavy, sweet and bitter, creamy and Soft.
