From the bottle, it pours a stygian dark brown/black with a modest brown head that soon reduces to a ring. The nose gets lots of chocolate, coffee, dark fruit and roasted and black malts - very pleasant. The mouth gets an easy drinking roasted malt brew with flavors of dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. Mild slightly bitter aftertaste.

Komes Imperial Stout from Browar Fortuna. 16.9 fl oz bottle from Half Time. Ordered 12/01/26, received 20/01/26. $ 4.83 (After discount, shipping, and tax)/$ 0.286/fl oz. Reviewed 28/01/26, review 3684. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Possibly undated bottle, a string of what appear to be random letters listed as “Lot Number.” Stored at home at 40 degrees F. Served at 53.4 degrees F (Bottle suggests 54 -58F) in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 58.8 degrees F.
Appearance – 3.5 – Basically looks like every other Imperial stout with no head/lacing.
First pour – Amber Brown (SRM 18), clear.
Body – Black (SRM 40), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same with light penetration at the edges, amber.
Head – Tiny (Maximum 0.2 cm, aggressive center pour) Brandy and fizzy with virtually no retention, quickly breaking into a broken rim of tiny bubbles, constantly being renewed by carbonation.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3.5 – Little, some roasted malt. No chocolate, no coffee, no hops. No alcohol (12% ABV, as marked on the label).
Flavor – 4 – It begins with slight roasted malt and some bitter chocolate. No hops. No alcohol. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Moderate gastric warming. Ends slightly dry.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium: Watery: Lively, fizzy, carbonation.
Style: Follows the BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Uncredited label art. Basically, a watery roasted malt drink with well-hidden alcohol. Good price point for an alcohol delivery system.
