On tap at Peekskill Brewery, Peekskill, NY.

Pours a pitch black color with a moderate frothy head that yields rings of lacing. Good looking and elegant brew.

Aromas of dark toasted and nutty malts. Notes of caramel, chocolate and dark fruit add a touch of sweetness.

The taste highlights rich flavors of dark toasted and biscuity malts with notes of caramel and bittersweet dark chocolate. Very well balanced with an earthy hops bitterness. The finish is dry with a lingering bitterness that is pleasant. Medium bodied and smooth with a moderate carbonation.

This was a very tasty and well done example of Schwarzbier. It has a fullness of flavor that belies its low ABV and Lager status.

Approaches total darkness in color except for a deep walnut tinge on the fringes. Creamy tan colored head.

Typical light-med bodied. Dry, roast derived finish. Undercarbonated.

Malt forwatd in both the aroma and flavor. Char roast at first, then coffee, dark bread, dark cocoa, burnt biscuit. Hoppy citrus zest and grass.
