my first beer from these guys, a highly flavored simple sour ale with blood orange and raspberry, which really give the beer a nice saturated deep pink color from the tap. the head is short lived, but the beer remains pretty looking in the glass. aroma and flavor here are strong from the fruit, more up front and intense in the nose than even the citrusy lactic sourness. some sweet from the blood orange, a nice ripe tang from the raspberries, both very natural to me, but dosed rather robustly. there is a sharpness here, a cleanness to the sour profile, simple but professionally done, and i think the acidity is right, its relatively high, but it works great with the sweeter fruit additions, and its not too sour to drink a couple of. this is very summery, the name fits the liquid, and if it had just a bit more carbonation, it would be an awesome example of a fruited sour. the combination of the blood orange and the raspberry is also really good, and somewhat original to my palate. cool brew, a nice introduction to what these guys are capable of...
