This style is my favorite when in Munich. This example, while not in that league, is not terrible. Considering I can rarely find a German import on tap I had to try it, while disappointed(slightly) you have to understand that you're on the banks of the Hudson not the Isar.

Poured a deep murky amber hue with a slight foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured some faint caramel malts.
The taste consisted of an overly sweet mix of caramel and toffee elements with little trace of wheat malt.
The mouthfeel was overly heavy for the style. There was little to no carbonation.
Overall not a good example of the style. I could not finish more than three ounces.
