Tarnished bronze. Slight beige head. Lace is minimal. Clarity is good. Fresh yeast aroma. Good fruit tones of apple, pear and green grapes. Light whiff of alcohol. Fruity taste. Pears are big. Apples and grape skin show as well. Esters galore. Biscuity malts. Alcohol is in the background. Smooth mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Light to medium bodied. This is a very drinkable and enjoyable Belgian Ale.

Growler poured to the very top, good job, guys.
Sweet caramel malt spills immediately from the aroma...on further inspection, wide-open, earthy, dark fruits, raisins, nuts, nice...sweet and lovely...
Deep brown color, with burgundy highlights, with nice, if short -lived, fizzy brown head.
Taste: sweetness again, big, rich malt, caramel and mellow fruit, light spice, ...and absolutely delcious. Some grit in the texture, some give and play, a tasty dance on the tongue.
Fullish body, sweet, fruity finish...solid.
Might lack a touch of complexity, but it's simplicity is reward enough, if the flavor is this fine. An easy-drinking dubbel, impossible to stop drinking it.
I like this quite a lot, it's a respectable dubbel, and I'm happy that the first beer I've reviewed out of the city of St. Cloud, MN is such a gutsy and tasty one.
Enormous thanks to fantome for the growler!

Pours auburn brown with a nice copper/red color when held to the light. About a 1/2 inch head that diminishes quickly with minimal lacing.
Slight fruity, raisin aroma. Mild bisquit malt and candi sugar flavor. Definite yet mild Belgian yeast character to both aroma and flavor. Nice mouthfeel, medium body, slightly sticky and mildly carbonated.
A nice beer. This is my favorite beer.

Some notes from the Brew Pub:
-Uses Belgian Pale Malt, select roasted malts, Belgian Candy Sugar, fermented yeast from Belgian Monastary Brewery
-Best of Show at Winterfest
-This batch is 6.9%
---
Appearance: Auburn colored...crisp looking
Aroma: Sweet candy sugar..a little almond...yeasty too
Taste: Sweet but subtle....candy sugar...some cookie dough...I got almonds on the nose but more of a pistachio flavor...a splash of zesty alcohol on the finish...not as full flavored as the big hitters from Belgium but tasty none-the-less
Mouthfeel: A little sticky but not real big...medium bodied...
Drinkability: A little too easy drinking to be honest. Hell of a nice brew pub Dubbel...shit for $8 bucks a growler this is a tremendous value...the dude at Barley John's who likes to rip people off with his growler prices would charged a "Benjamin" for this one I bet.
I will be stopping by through the holidays and will have my fingers crossed that this is still available....excellent beer for an excellent price
