Hops Grillhouse & Brewery

After a pretty bad experience at the Gordon-Biersch in ATL (horrible beers and a pizza with 10 lbs of garlic), I was a bit skeptical of another chain brewpub. Hops surprised me with a large selection of beers on tap (8) and some pretty good tasting food. The beer cheese dip appetizer was good, as were the sandwiches. Most of the beer selections were of pretty common styles, but all of the ones we tried tasted fresh and were pretty good, the best being the oatmeal stout. The brewmaster was there and seemed pretty knowledgeable and on-the-ball. The bartender and waitstaff were friendly and helpful, but did not seem to have an abundance of beer appreciation. I wish one of these was in my neck of the woods.
