This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a ruddy burnt amber almost brown color with a pillowy thin white foamy head. Dissipated fairly quick, light messy lace. The aroma had some caramel, raisin, biscuits, nuts, toast, low sweet earthiness, some butterscotch and some light vanilla. The flavor blended all of the previously mentioned aromas together sweetly and added in some sweet smooth bubblegum, weird, but different and honestly, I liked it. Just a touch of spice at the very end, right before the aftertaste hits. Smooth sweet blended aftertaste rolling into the finish. The feel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Alcohol level seemed where the brewer intended. Good smoothness over my tongue. Overall, aroma and flavor were spot on. Though the brewer says it’s 6.6, and it did feel close to that. Oddly enough, I think I may have been expecting a bit more alcohol warmth, but definitely one I could have again.
