A-Deep, dark brownish copper with a thin off-white head that left little to no lace.
S-Dry roasted malt with notes of prune, cocoa powder and am I nuts in thinking lima beans?
T-Very dry, bitter chocolate and cocoa powder. Roasted malt gives some body but I keep coming back to the dryness....and I like dry but this is too much for me.
M-Medium bodied and astringent to a point of making it hard to drink.
D-Decent but oo dry for me...and I really do LIKE dry. This brew however does not work for me. If this was suppose to be some kind of "tribute" to PH it missed the mark for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a thick tan head that fades. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is quite roasty with some sweetness. Nice porter, and certainly not strong.

Served on-tap at the brewpub.
A: The beer is a dark brown color, a lighter cola color with an off-white head.
S: The nose is legume-y, starchy with a noticeable bean aroma. Cocoa powder also appears, adding a sweetness.
T: The ale has caramel, chocolate and cocoa powder flavors throughout. Bean flavors, detected in the nose, continue here. The starches are filling, full with a dry aftertaste. The finish combines cocoa powder and beans, a great way to end this beer.
M: The mouthfeel is smooth, silky with a nice chocolate undertone. A worthy cousin to you-know-who.
D: The ale is quite drinkable. If not for a whole line-up of low abv brews, this would be the start and end of the night.

Enjoyed on tap at Earth on 12/27.
Poured a dark brown color with a thin off-white head. OK retention and some spotty lacing. Smells of roasted malts, cereal grains, soy sauce, and chocolate. Tastes of caramel, roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee with some saltiness. Finish combines some bitter cocoa powder and earthy hops. Medium in body with good carbonation. Smooth and roasty with a nice salty and bitter finish. Very easy to drink and full of flavor. Lower in abv than most Baltic Porters, meaning much easier to session.

Appearance - Deep mahagony color. Thin wispy head.
Nose - Mild burnt blackened, fine bitter chocolate, some candied fruit.
Taste - Waves of deep caramel, nuts, cherry, with mild bitter and chocolate finish. A little Belgian candy in there too.
Mouthfeel - Noticeable presence.
Drinkability - High considering style.
