On draft at the restaurant/brewery. Poured cloudy, orangy dark honey amber, shows moderate retention of its darker tan head. Banana infused and spiced up nose. This is a rich and flavorful ale. Notes of pepper, lime, more bananas, coriander. Accented with waves of hops and then Belgian malty goodness. Dense, richly flavorful and complex. My kinda beer, please keg and bottle this and ship to my local bars and stores. If in the Philly area this place and this beer are well worh seeking out.

13oz pour at the brewpub during the one guy brewing event. Tom always seems to nail some Belgian styled beer so I went with this with ease.
Bellhop looks quite aggressive in appearance, a bold orange with some lighter spots depending where you look at it. On top a quarter inch of tightly packed creamy off white foam that had legs but not strong enough to stick.
I thought this was a Belgian DIPA with the alcohol and it may be, but it does not smell like it. This smells more like a mix of a IPA and a triple with all that fruit and yeast in the scent. There are hops in the nose and I'm thinking Amarillo.
The malt beats out the hops in taste but the hops are giving me a mouth full of oranges and a little grapefruit. The malt gives off fresh baked bread and it pairs up nice with the spicy flatbread Im eating. The yeast used is at a level that's not small but just big enough for bell hop to be called a Belgian IPA. I get alot of citrus without the bitterness.
A small step above medium bodied, there is quite a body on this, the malt bill really packs on the pounds making for a fuller feeling Belgian IPA. Im used to lighter offerings in this area and Bell Hop seems to blow them all out of the water in body mass. It kind of hurts the drinkability a bit. Carb is light and bright.
This is a good stab at a Belgian IPA, one that I hope to have again, but Tom does not make things twice from what I understand. This is a well balanced beer but I think maybe the addition of more hop varieties might have spiced things up a bit, but what do I know.

13 oz pour on tap at earth bread. Paired with a super spicy flat bread. Great spot to grab a pint and a bite.
A- glowing sunset orange with a nice finger of head that settle quickly with touches of lace.
S- fruity citrus hops and a spicy yeast touch. Nice sweetness too.
T- floral fruity hops on top of a very Belgian yeast spice, clove and cinnamon covered bananas. Simple honey sweetness from the malt goes a long way to balance out the hops and yeast.
M- medium body and mild carb that give the brew a long time to assert it self on the palate.
D- nice stuff work super well with the flat bread and really delivered on the flavor. Nice showing for the abv as well never would have guessed that high.
