First had: on cask at their brewpub
Poured a dark cola brown-black color, very carbonated, with a thick puff of beige head that globbed away as the bartender filled the glass. Retained as a patchy layer, and left some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine resin and coffee grounds, not too strong. Taste followed the aroma more or less, with a big hit of piney hops up front, followed by coffee grounds and wet cardboard; earthy, dry finish. Okay, but definitely not the best I've had of the style. Medium-bodied, and fairly drinkable, but just a bit harsh I thought, especially in the aftertaste.
