First had: on tap at their brewpub
Poured a reddish-brown, slightly hazy, with a small cap of beige head that displayed nice retention and left a little lacing. Aroma of caramel, sweet malts, and a touch of spice. Taste was very smooth and mellow for a Scottish ale; not what I expected, but surely a pleasant surprise. Sweet malts, light caramel and toffee, light spices and a gentle earthiness, with just a bit of booze in the background, and a hint of smoke. Not as sweet or strong or thick as many other beers of the style, yet still very good in its own way. Medium-bodied, tasty, and quite drinkable. Went good with my mac-n-cheese flatbread. Love Earth Bread...always changing and always experimenting.
