On tap at Granite City - Omaha, NE...

Appearance: A lemony yellow with elements of copper give this body a refreshing look. Mediocre head. Minor lacing and retention.

Smell: Hints of grain, earthy hops, freshly mowed grass, and some lemon-lime element that is confusing my senses.

Taste: It has a solid hop content that comes across as a pilsener should but this one confuses me because of this citrusy lemon-lime element that finishes it. I don't mean to say it negatively but moreso just different and unexpected. My wife even said "it kind of tastes like bud light lime." I wouldn't go as far to put it down to that but it is a very curious element undoubtedly.

Mouthfeel: A clean, fresh, crsip, refreshing beer. An easy palatable brew here.

Overall: Unique; simply put.. and refreshingly so. I don't get why it is labeled as retired because I just had it last night - it's one of their seasonals.

Consider me impressed.

A. Light golden. Ample carbonation. Thin white lacing.

N. Surprisingly hoppy. Pale malt. Green pine needles. Grass.

T. Great. Touch of pineapple. Light malt. Hoppy finish.

Mf. Dry, light, crisp, n clear. Bitter. Wonderful.

D. Outstanding.

Way to go. Almost an American imperial. Very well hopped. I'm kinda shocked gc made a beer this good.

staying at a hotel in Omaha, right across from Granite City. Had to try and review thier brews.
this one just tapped in mid july 2010:

A: Super Clear Amber. white, Medium head settles really quick but leaves great lacing.

S: comes up a bit short here, crisp and clean with only a hint of maltiness to the nose.

T: bitter with a malt back on the lite side. that bitter follow up really lasts! and grows on you. This does get better as it warms.

M: just a bit "oily" but really not bad. nicely carbonated, no ABV bite at all.

D : Drink em Down! good enough that I ordred a 2nd one. at 6.1 the end result was a nice comfy buzzz (grins)

Had a mug of this while applying to work here...don't worry, I don't yet.

A: Poured a one finger head after the bartender poured a lot of foam out, couldn't tell how much. The head is white white and gets thin fast, but leaves great lace. The Beer is deep golden, but clear.

S: Pretty weak, mild german hops and malt. Very simple. Not strong, but not offensive.

T: Very good. Not great, but very good. Simple, clean german pils taste. A mild aftertaste that isn't worth describing, but worth noting.

M: Good carbonation, not watery, but not creamy either. Mildly biting.

D: Good, I could see it as a gateway beer

Originally reviewed April 9, 2005. On tap at the Gitchee Gumee Brewfest 2005. This beer looks dissapointed with it’s typical light gold pour and white head and a bland aroma, but wakes you up with those pleasent tart hoppy flavors present in a beer like Harp. I got some light bubblegum in the back ground, which was peculiar, but not detracting.

It poured with a thin head with a straw colored body. The nose consists of a good floral bouquet. The mouthfeel is crisp and malty and pleasantly balanced by the afore-mentioned flowery essence. The finish consists mostly of a nice citrusy flavor, yes lemon-ish. This is a good refreshing offering, I would utilize as a nice session beer.

Enjoyed this one at the St. Cloud location.

Perfect straw color to this beer. An appropriate white fluffy head graces the surface and it well retained. Nose is ot very strong. Some light maltiness and a little spicy hop character as well. Really nice crisp and refreshing taste. Great underlying malt flavor is accentuated very nicely by the great spicy saaz hop character. Overall, an enjoyable pilsner.
