Most commercial American lagers (light beers included) are mediocre at best - Yuengling has managed to evade this, however, and happens to be one of my favorite American lagers. That's why I gave their Golder Pilsner a try, which proves to be a pretty good beer, and for a decent price of $10 for a twelve pack. If you're looking for a nice tailgating beer, this is the brew for you.

A nice pilsner, easy drinking with a decent hop presence. In my opinion it could use a little more hop in the taste and smell. It easy to drink more than one without getting your taste buds blown out. I really enjoyed the session ability of this beer.

Had a post tour 7 oz sample while visiting with Da Boss 9-25-25.
It actually came across as an authentic German pilsner with the hopping used. It was a bit watery, but the essence carried throughout the sample.

Being from Chicago, I’d say it’s comparable to Old Style. And it needs to be very very cold. 32-33 degrees. It looks ok. No lacing or head. I purchased a 12 pack of this. I wish i had tried a 6 pack. Smells like Wrigley Field beer. Doesn’t feel bad. No excessive carbonation. Not flat. Overall, if you crack a very cold one on a hot summer day it’s going to be refreshing.

I just had a 4th of July, filled with Bitburger/Warsteiner - so this is gonna be an Interesting review. I grabbed a suitcase of Yuengling Golden Pilsners, because, A. It’s been awhile. B. To see how it stacks up against the legends. Poured a 12oz bottle into a lowenbrau .5l Helles tall glass. It looks great. Nice golden color. More of a Helles/Lager look. 3 finger head, that settles to 1 finger. Smell, is corn/diacetyls/wet grass. The least appealing part. Thin, on the mouthfeel. Faint hops on the palette. Medium carbonation. Nice aftertaste. Crisp. Don’t let it warm up. Drink these ICE cold. Not dreck, but not a standard -bearer either. Blue collar Pils.

Tasty, crisp, and refreshing. Flavorful but not too skunky and off putting. Doesn't drink heavy. Moutfeel is nice. Not overly creamy and thankfully not too thin. Solid Pilsner

Undated bottle; drank 4/27/25 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull gold appearance.
A rough pour yielded a minimal eggshell-colored head; decent lacing remained.
Honey & corn notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Honey & corn syrup flavors.
Sweet, sticky & not much fun.
