12oz bottle
Pours barely a finger of tan head. Retention is ok. Lacing is void. Body is a deep mahogany. Looks meh.
Smell is mostly figs, prunes, maybe some bitter chocolate. Smells a little rich at first, and there are no spice notes, but it does smooth out into a pretty lovely fruit melody over time.
Yeah flavor is a massive hit of fruit, maybe some caramelized sugar / dark candi sugar underneath. Maybe a touch of clove. Very assertive, very flavorful.
Carbonation is pretty soft. Mouthfeel is relatively thick. Alcohol burn is very present at first but quickly smooths out. Perceived sweetness is quite high. Overall the mouthfeel is appropriate.
Drinkability is pretty good all things considered.
Bold, and definitely a sipper, but it works.
