A: The beer is essentially jet black in appearance; some amber colors are visible but only at the very edges of the glass. It poured with a two finger high creamy beige head that has good retention properties and never completely faded away.
S: The aroma is very strong and sweet; brown sugar and caramel stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, there is a moderate amount of sweetness in the taste, which also has flavors of dark roasted malts and notes of brown sugar.
M: It feels very smooth and creamy on the palate and has a light amount of carbonation. There is a moderate amount of dryness in the finish
D: The beer is a slow sipper, but is one that's very drinkable during the cold weather.

This is a very dark stout with a smallish light tan head - a thing of beauty in my book.
The nose was full of coffee and in the mouth it was quite bitter but with enough maltiness to keep it from being overpowering, and thus the rest of the pint is smooth and thick and filling, almost like a strong coffee tiramisu.
A wonderful beer.
