Tasted in a 330ml glass on tap at the brewery restaurant and also took some away in 750ml bottles for consumption at home.
Fresher bottles were not as good - this beer seemed to improve a little at home given 6 weeks to fill itself out.
Pours a MASSIVE foamy tan head that rapidly subsides to a shortlived 2mm head. Nut brown beer with a slight russet tinge. Malty chocolate nose, very smooth mouthfeel with light carbonation. Dry finish with tangible alcohol notes. Moderate complexity.
A surprisingly large amount of dark brown yeast sediment settled out in the bottom of the bottle
I'd guess at a large amount of residual sugar given the 'sticky-lips' after drinking.
A super beer - will be back for more.

Beer bottle (75cl.), tasted in 2008.
To mark it's link in the region poitou, the brewery Bellefois decided to make a nod to the history, choosing to mention the Battles Poitevines.
Appearance : beautiful autumn colors, with white foam head (not persistent), average carbonation.
Smell : generous nose of caramel malt, licorice and coffee.
Taste and mouthfeel : roundness in the mouth and delicate bitterness.
Drinkability : It's a beer tasting for the winter evenings around the fireplace.
