2nd from this brewery.
Pours a lightly hazy honey golden amber tone. NIce carbonation, the main attraction of this brew is the beautiful effervescent head rising to the top of my goblet. The finishing pour creates an apple-juice colored brew, looks great.
Smells of..Westmalle triple! Spicy, peppery, musty grains, oak sourdough, elderflower, hay, yeast, cellar, wild arugula. Second smell reveals orange, coriander, white pepper, wheat, lemon zest. Maybe this is a great undescovered triple!
Flavor is beautiful. Spicy sweet malt, followed by a wave of white pepper, spice, coriander, wheat, orange, lemon, sour yeasty funk a delicate herbal balance, all finishing with a throat warming pepper sensation that belies the 7% ABV. This much more complex packed into a smaller brew.
The ABV also belies the mouthfeel. Spicy, tart, creamy, sour sweet full yet biting all meld into a seemingly perfect Triple.
..I was very unimpressed by this brewery's Lambic, but somehow they have created a world-class triple.
Great discovery!
