500 ml Brown bottle, with a picture of the two brewers on the label (being silly). The beer was poured slowly into pint vase shaped glass (Old Speckled Hen, badged). Reviewed on its best before date of 14 Dec 2010.

Dull, slightly hazy amber/brunette in colour, plenty of carbonisation rising up to the smooth white foaming head.

Good hop aroma, some yeast esters in there too. Biscuity malt smells add to the mix nicely.

The taste is a pleasant blend of the smell ingrediants, mid-malty sweetness balanced well with the bittering hop elements to produce a very good beer that is easy to drink and enjoy.

If I was being picky, then it was a tat over carbonated, but otherwise a fine example of an English Beer.

500 mL brown bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: slow pour yields a 1-finger head of eggshell colour, beneath sits a clear tea-infused beer with some minor lacing

S: mild in the aroma department, I had to smell several times just to pick up some very mild biscuity malts

T: has a very sharp, yet earthy taste that is very unusual for this style, and very welcome as it makes it an interesting and refreshing take on the traditional bitter; the intensity relaxes further into the drink; there are some hoppy overtones here not generally present in Bitters, and some buttery diacetyls revealed as the beer warms

M: a nice carbonation and bite, again slightly atypical for this style; a more buttery/slick mouthfeel emerges about half-way through the drink

D: would definitely try again, very drinkable, interesting take on the English bitter
