O.C. Rouse Wheat Ale, 4.5% alcohol is a light summery style ale, brewed with a high proportion of German Wheat Malt and gently hopped with traditional lager hops for a clean easy drinking taste experience. A very popular light summer ale, it is named after the Doctor who commissioned the building of the original house some 160 years ago. Typically available from late April to late September.

Big thanks again to grub for grabbing a couple growlers from this new brewery.
Pours a clear yellowish amber, touches of orange, thin white head forms, drops to a thin a ring but leaves some solid lacing on the glass. Smell is alright, oats and biscuits, wheat, apricot, quite grainy through the middle, brown sugar, touch of citrus and floral, nice and malty. Taste is similar, bit of orange peel up front, biscuits, apricots, wheat, honey, grainy, light flavour and a touch of lemony tartness in the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation, lacking in flavour but pretty smooth and I wouldn't say no to it. Not a bad beer, very drinkable. Thanks Russ!

A little sour, apple juice light appearance. No head whatsoever. Smooth, Mount Hood hops, A little hoppy, high concentration of wheat. Medium mouthfeel. So-so,less interesting than the pale or the house adjunt red, yet drinkable. Not complex or standout representation of the style.

64oz growler purchased at the brewery oct 11/08 and sampled oct 12/08.
pours crystal clear golden yellow with a small medium density white head. the head drops fast and leaves no lace behind.
aroma is nice. a touch fruity. bit of caramel and butterscotch. nice light spice. bit of floral character too. bready.
taste is nice. light floral character. touch of citrus. pleasant wheaty character. whole wheat bread. cracker. light fruity component here too. bit of alcohol.
mouthfeel is good. medium carbonation level. medium-light body.
drinkability is good. nicely balanced. fairly mainstream. a pleasant but unremarkable wheat. still, it was enjoyable and goes down quite easy.
