Brewed with falconers flight, chinook and citra hops. Starts with a caramel-like, fruity body and finishes crisp, dry and hoppy.

My favorite PizzaBoy offering to date. I took many a growler of "Hoppy Red" home with a grin that you couldn't wipe off my face until the last sip was gone.
A very refreshing mix of red/amber, ESB and IPA.
Was it an over-hopped Amber/Red Ale? an IPA with a dash of dark crystal/cara-red malt?
Don't know, Don't care...as long as they keep making it!

Thanks Kirb for sharing this growler with me. Poured into a tulip, the brew appears copper with a polished clarity to it. Some yellowish tan cap rests atop leaving patchy lacing effect.
The smell boasts a lot of minerals almost like chlorine with some rindy fruit notes breaking things up. Overall this did not seem to smell like it was intended.
The taste is bitter and grassy with a minor mineral touch almost like soap and pine. A bit of caramel to toffee malt aftertaste with minuscule sweetness.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. I have been meaning to try this since it came out and it appears I did this beer a great disservice by waiting 4+ months to get a growler and try it. The hops are hardly a focus in this anymore, I would not revisit it.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours amber orange with a nice one finger tall white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving small streaks of lace down the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of light noble hops, doughy yeast, mildly toasted caramel malt and some very light fruitiness. Hoppiness grows as it warms up a bit, evening things out.
T - Starts off with the caramel malt sweetness, never really fading away. The noble hop bitterness, dulled fruitiness and a touch of bready yeast help to balance it all out. Finish is a mix of mild sweetness and bitterness, linger long after the finish.
M - Medium-Light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth feel with a nice balance of hops and malt.
O - A really nice hybrid ESB/Red Ale. It is well balanced and still has plenty of flavor to go around. This one will fly under the radar but it shouldn't, definitely give it a try as it is really nice.
