Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pours chill hazed amber orange with a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a very light film, leaving sticky sheets of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smells of lots of piney hops, with some light grassy and dulled citric hop oils behind it as well as some caramel and toffee sweetness and the mildly toasted grains. Taste is pretty much the same with tons of pine resin up front slowly being joined by the toasted grain, light sweetness and fresh cut grass showing up late to the party. Sticky, bitter feel clings to the palate long after consumption.
Overall a pretty solid DIPA. The piney hops are strong but not to the point of being overpowering. The ABV is hidden well allowing it to be fairly easy to consume in larger quantities. Worth the try if you get the chance.
