Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. A smokey beer for a smokey man. Pours cloudy orange with a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating to a ring around the edge, leaving no lace at all on the glass.
Smells of smokey wood, caramel, toffee, tobacco and meaty bacon. Taste is along the same lines with the smokey wood and umami flavor up front followed by the caramel and toffee sweetness. Finish is a little smokey, lingering long after the finish. Smokey, slightly sweet feel from start to finish.
Overall a decent smoked beer. I usually prefer my smoked beers to be darker but this one still worked pretty well. Give it a shot if you are into these kind of beers.
