Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pours murky orangish brown with a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a small ring, leaving little to no lace on the glass.
Smells of mildly toasted grains, caramel, toffee, light hop bitterness, ginger root and some light booze. Taste is pretty much the same with the sweet mealtiness up front followed by the ginger, hops and other accompanying flavors. Slick, bitter feel with a nice amount of the ginger coming through.
Overall a decent hybrid red ale. It has the desired flavors, just a bit to malty for my taste.
