Appearance is a reddish brown color. Slightly bready nose. Deep malty flavor profile that is dominated by the essence of figs. The finish is semi-dry.

Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pours deep dark brown with a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light ring around the edge, leaving little to no lace on the glass.
Smells of figs, prunes, chocolate, caramel, toffee, mildly toasted grain and some light booze. Taste is pretty much identical with the dark fruits up front being joined quickly by the sweet flavors and finishing with light booze burn. Full, flavorful body coats the palate throughout.
Overall a very nice example of a Doppelbock. It has all of the correct pieces and even at 9% remains fairly easy to consume. Definitely worth the try if you are into these types of beers.
