Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden. Pours murky golden brown with a one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a thin film, leaving small streaks of lace one the sides of the glass.
Smells of strong grassy and piney hops, mild citric fruit, moderately high caramel and toffee sweetness, toasted bread and faint booze. Taste is along the same lines with the toast and sweetness up front quickly joined by the array of hoppy flavors and finally some dryness and booze on the finish. Smooth, slick feel goes down surprisingly easy for 9.5%.
Overall a nice DIPA but I would still prefer the other versions to this one.
