Pours nearly pitch black with a creamy tan head that fades over several minutes into an ever-present layer of tiny bubbles. Smell and taste are bitter roasty coffee with a sweet chocolate background. Feel is smooth and creamy.

Acquired on my trip back from Pittsburgh. Canned 12/18/17

Pours a huge creamy thick rich 2 finger mocha head that fades slowly, sticky lacing, and a dark black beer with no light coming through

Nose brings some cocoa nibs and dark chocolate, not very strong, however a big nutty fresh roasted coffee is dominant, freshly ground and brewed coffee, very nutty peanut, but also almost cashew like, bits of caramel and nougat, hint of toffee, and some fudgey coco, chocolate brownie with nuts

Taste brings more dark fudgey cocoa, big chocolate brownie batter, layers of cocoa, baker's chocolate, chocolate ganache, a little milk chocolate, Lindt creamy center, etc. A bit of caramel in the center, with more fresh coffee in the middle and quickly rising on the back end, freshly roasted ground coffee brewed to a medium roast, again nutty but also a touch fruity, some roasty bitterness on the back end as well as a little spicy hop bitterness late, big sticky finish, a touch of alcohol, lingering bitterness and maybe a touch of acridness.

Mouth is big thick lush creamy chewy, very little alcohol, creamy carbonation

Overall this was a great beer. The bitterness and touch of acrid on the back end was the only thing keeping it from 4.5 across the board, otherwise a very well done beer, nice enjoyable sipper for a Sunday afternoon of work. Can't wait to try the coconut version.

Thanks to JLindros for hooking me up with a can of this!

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice dark black hue with a one finger mocha head that fades slowly to leave a dense, creamy blanket with very little side lacing.

S - Aromas of nice dark malts, rich dark chocolate, bakers chocolate, the coffee is super rich and roasty. As it warms the chocolate becomes almost fudge brownie. The coffee pops more too, very bright fresh grounds. Incredibly inviting aroma.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Loads of dark malts, nice dark bakers chocolate. Not quite as fudgy as the nose. Finish is on the bitter side too. The coffee is nice too, good roast levels. The finish also gets a bit on the acrid side.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated. The body is nice, but, I think a heavier body and creamier mouthfeel would translate far better. Alcohol is hidden wonderfully though.

O - Overall this was a very nicely done stout. The cacao brings quite a bit to the table though would liked to have seen the nice fudge brownie on the nose translate more on the flavour.

Canned on 12/18/17.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch tan head over an almost black body with some lacing. Nose of a most excellent coffee aroma, some cocoa, and a bit of roasted malt. Taste of coffee, chocolate, and a bit of molasses and maybe brown sugar. Very nice feel and overall an awesome offering from the guys at PBB!
Oh yeah, thanks to orangesol for adding this beer last month on my 65th birthday!
Also, saving the best for last;
thanks to Mike for the hookup!!!
Cheers!!!
