The passion fruit appears to be adding a mild tartness on the nose and a major tartness in the flavor profile. In fact, this offer was enough to make one pucker.
This is a case in which the adding of an adjunct really detracted from the flavors of the base beer, which ranks among my favorite DIPAs.

Poured into a giant 20 oz Duvel glass from a fresh Crowler. Pours a very attractive clear bright orange with a massive 3 finger white head that leaves behind some thin wisps of lace.
Smell is big passion fruit as you would expect, mango, papaya, and a hint of grapefruit and alcohol.
Taste follows reminds me of a scorpion bowl, passion fruit, mango, sweet, pineapple, booze, and a nice shot of fermented grapefruit and candied sugar.
Mouthfeel is a big syrupy almost large, with very gentle carbonation, tad dry because it is a tad boozy, and for 13% ABV it goes down pretty darn easy.
Overall this is a very solid monster IPA that is a little more sweet than I would prefer, but also well brewed. Thanks jzeilinger for this monster size can and this thunderess beer. Good gravy, I will finish this beast, but not many could!

Poured from a 32 oz Crowler from Pizza Boy.
A - Pours a vibrant medium to dark gold color with thick, soapy white lacing and light carbonation. A nice change of pace from the hazy/opaque beer craze.
S - Sticky and resiny passion fruit mixed in with some tropical fruit.
T - Pungent, dank, and slightly acidic passion fruit, some spicy fruit rind, and finishes with light peppery bitterness and some alcohol presence. or such a big beer, the alcohol doesn't detract. The alcohol flavor is detected a little bit, but no alcohol effervescence permeating up to the sinuses and very little warming on the way down.
M - Full bodied and velvety texture. Dry finish on the back of the tongue and very wet in the front of the mouth.
O - The ABV is deceptively well hidden in this beer.
