11% beer, not 10%. Bottom line, this is basically as step down from Sunny Side Up...although to be fair this is from a can and I rated SSU on tap at the brewery. That is a tough standard, and this is still a pretty good beer, but the nose is slightly milder and the flavors just don't come together in the same way. Mouthfeel isn't as smooth either. Still plenty of coffee here, but the additional sweetness just doesn't mesh...maybe there is a slight astringency that is keeping it from being what I want. Bit too much carbonation for the style and my liking. Good news, this is not overly sweet as pastry stouts go.
