Valley Road Enterprises / Pizza Boy Brewing Co. "Hop Vision - Sabro"
1 pint can coded "WITH LOVE, ALBERT 09.01.20 11:10"
Notes via stream of consciousness: I can smell the hops at arms length upon opening the can. It's poured a cloudy yellow gold beneath a full head of fluffy bright white foam. The aroma is citrusy with orange and yuzu, but also cedar-like, floral, fruity with apricot, and spicy. The flavor brings in an additional note of, believe it or not, coconut, and mint as well! Sabro is really a screwed up hop. I know people have said that it's beautifully rounded but what I'm getting here is all over the place. It's fruity, then oddly woody and spicy, floral, and then finally herbal and spicy. It's weird! The malt here is very basic and that allows the hops to shine in all their bizarre glory. A stiff bitterness runs through it start to finish, anchoring it, and leading it to a dry, spicy, and herbal finish. What a strange trip it is. The head has held up remarkably well, and there's some really nice lacing left behind, so at least there's that. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. I can't help but think that with such a brash hop they weren't a little more careful with it, but then again, some people want that punch in the face. I give it points for being out-there but that credit really belongs to the hops. Or does it?

Looks like a typical hazy. Aroma is 90% coconut.. 10% stone fruit. Taste is almost pure coconut. There are faint flavors of pineapple, with a fair amount of bitterness. MF is lowly carbonated.. medium. Not bad, just too much coconut overload, unless that's your deal.
